I never intended it,
now I’m devastated by my deed.
I tried to cut out the rotten parts,
like the books say I should.
Plant it again,
water it just enough this time,
and give it as much sunlight as it needs to thrive.
But I guess I never learn from past mistakes.
Because I killed a cactus again.
I tried to save it,
now it’s dead.
